Join Our Shell Recycling Team

Massachusetts Oyster Project is seeking applicants for a paid role on our shell recycling team. Based in Wellfleet, this individual will be responsible for the implementation and success of the program from spring to fall 2022.

In 2021, the program diverted 26,241 pounds of oyster shells from going to the landfill. Instead, these shell will be used to support new generations of native oysters in Wellfleet waters. That means cleaner water, enhanced biodiversity, and increased economic and recreational harvest opportunities.

The Massachusetts Oyster Project is a volunteer-driven 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The organization is dedicated to strengthening our coastal environment by restoring native shellfish populations to our beaches and coastal estuaries through oyster cultivation, shell recycling, education and advocacy.
