Kelsey Schultz earned her doctorate in Marine and Environmental Science from Northeastern University, where her research examined how oyster aquaculture can enhance coastal ecosystems and identified the social and ecological factors that drive public support for sustainable shellfish aquaculture expansion. With over a decade of experience in oyster restoration, aquaculture research, and coastal community engagement throughout New England, Kelsey is driven by the connection between healthy coastal ecosystems and the communities that depend on them, and focuses on building partnerships between coastal communities, the shellfish industry, and conservation practitioners to advance oyster restoration in Massachusetts.
