Looking for an opportunity to volunteer and help restore Massachusetts waters. Opportunities are posted as soon as they are available. Please check back often.
All of our programs are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. We’re always on the lookout for individuals to help support our upweller, shell recycling, education, and events programs.
Upweller Volunteer Opportunities
As part of our volunteer program, we also raise oysters in upwellers (nurseries) that support our restoration efforts across Massachusetts. These oysters require daily care and monitoring to help them grow and thrive. We currently operate 9 upwellers throughout the state, and volunteers play an important role in helping maintain them.

Become an ambassador
Become a Mass Oyster Project Ambassador! These dedicated volunteers take on a long-term role, receive special training, and help out with hands-on fieldwork and other parts of our oyster restoration efforts.
