In 2020, we launched our first upweller on Nantucket! It was built and is supported in partnership with Madaket Marine. The upweller sits on a pier at Madaket Marine.
The first year, Nantucket grew 20,000 oysters and donated them to the town of Barnstable, where they were planted in Cotuit Bay. This upweller is about half the size of our others. We’re growing 10,000 oysters this summer, which are planned to be planted at First Point.
