Nantucket - Straight Wharf Upweller

This upweller program was started in 2020 as the second upweller. In 2024, the upweller was moved to its new home on Straight Wharf pier. We’re growing 10,000 oysters this summer, which will be planted on Nantucket. This upweller is in collaboration with the Town of Nantucket Natural Resources, Nantucket Land and Water Council, Girl Scouts of the USA, Nantucket Land Bank, and Nantucket Island Resort.
